The villa Pentetorri, one of the most celebrated ducal residences, was completely destroyed by bombing on 13 May 1944. It was a cubic building, embellished at the corners by four avant-corps and a central turret; the probable designer was Gaspare Vigarani. All that remains of the villa today is the gateway and the stable block.
