The villa, with its sober 19th-century shapes, perhaps stands on the site of the Delizia Estense of Quartesana, which already existed in 1389 and passed to the Strozzi family in the late 15th century. After a series of turbulent hereditary events, it passed to the Archiepiscopal Seminary and it is now privately owned. All that remains of the original building is a late-Gothic walled portico at the rear of the main building, and an elegant Renaissance portico (walled and poorly whitewashed) incorporated into a recently built cold store, the only remaining part of a probable side service building.
