Castello di Baiso/ Castello di Baiso e campana del sec. XV
Niccolò III
This complex features an enclosure guarding the top of the hill, with an approximately elliptical perimeter that extends in a north-east and south-west direction. At the south-western side stands the complex of stone buildings leading to the keep: a quadrangular tower with compact sides, pierced by modest rectangular openings, the summit of which is crowned by dovetail battlements without the intermediation of a jutting structure on corbels. On the north-eastern side of the keep is the rectangular residential building, which features arched windows, covered by a double-pitched roof and surrounded, like the top of the tower, by dovetail battlements. The state of ruin in which the building found itself after its decay in the modern era was remedied with various additions that involved the opening of mullioned windows on the long sides of the residential building, the external staircase on the north-eastern side as well as the construction of dovetail battlements.
