Description

The Barchessone (agricultural construction for horse breeding) Vecchio, known as the basilica of the valleys due to its grandeur, was built by the ducal chamber in 1824. It was a stable for horses bred in a semi-wild state in the area around San Martino Spino, and served as a model for the building of the other five ‘barchessoni’ belonging to the Fifth Quadruped Breeding Centre.
