Description

The church of San Francesco, begun by Advini as a lateral wing of the Piazza della Rosa, features a remarkable interior entirely decorated in an illusory manner by Baldassarre Bianchi and Gian Giacomo Monti. It houses the relic of the Holy Trunk, a crucifix believed to be miraculous, brought from the East and given to the Pio family, lords of Sassuolo, in the 15th century.
