Description

This palace, of imposing proportions, was built in the final years of the 15th century by the brothers Carlo and Camillo Strozzi, important dignitaries of the Este court, who chose the prestigious setting of the Piazza Nuova for their residence. It then passed by marriage to the Bevilacqua family who owned it until the beginning of the 20th century. Documentation on this building is scarce, but it has been attributed by Zevi to Biagio Rossetti. All that remains of the original building is the vast ground-level portico, the courtyard with arcades on two levels and the vaulted staircase.
